Biography of Sri. Venkatesa Iyer - Part 1

Today is the special guru pradosham, see Guru Pradosham on 20th November 2014. On this auspicious day, I am posting the first part of a 3-part biography of taatha, compiled from edited extracts from the "Venkatesa Iyer and Poornambal Memorial Trust" booklet and also the centenary celebration souvenir.

Venkatram Mama (14-Nov-1926 to 14-Nov-2014)

Appa called up today to convey the news of Venkatram Mama passing away. He lived a full life, and we were very fortunate to have spent some time with him on our last trip to India, at which time we took the photograph below.

Deepavali greetings yet again

 Wishing everyone a Joyous and Prosperous दीपावली

It's now been approximately one more year since the last post (done last Deepavali).

This time, really expect to see some updates within the next 2 weeks on Taatha's biography, and a series titled "Thus Spake Venkatesa Iyer" which will include lectures/talks by taatha.
